Valentine's & Our 1st Skate!

For Valentines, students were challenged to create as many Valentine words as possible using toothpicks and marshmallows. The second part of the challenge was to record how many vertices and sides each word had.  It was a lot of fun to see their creativity.

On Wednesday, we joined Mr. Kline's class to go skating.  It was a perfect afternoon.  We watched kids develop their confidence on the ice, even when they were very nervous at the beginning.  Students showed perseverance by getting up after a fall and leadership when they were teaching each other how to skate.

A big thank you to the parents who joined us and the grade 5 students who helped tie skates!

Frosty in February

February is here already!  As always, we are having lots of fun in our classroom.

We are starting some team building activities to become better actors.  We have learned that we really have to work together if we want to be successful!

We are still learning about structures and strength.  We have been surprised at how we can make something that seems weak, stronger by altering how we build it as a structure.

Grade 4 students are still learning and independently researching Pulleys.

In the gym, we have been challenging ourselves by learning to play offensive and defensive positions.  We will also begin skating soon!  A permission letter was sent home with the days our class will be skating.  You can also print a copy from the newsletter section of the blog.
Please join us if you can!!
